Recap - Courage to Try Something New - February 26th

Nothing like comfort food to warm your heart and belly and that's exactly what we enjoyed at our last MOPs event...Yummy Chilli, Corn bread and Chocolate covered fruits! I went home happy, fed and encouraged to spend time with my fellow Moms!

Queen Reina's piece was so unique and encouraging and we hope to get a copy of it in our mailbox soon.

Since moms shouldn't have all the fun, our awesome MOPPETS leaders ensured that the little folks had masks too as modeled by a few friends below.

Thank you one and all for preparing, participating and posing with us - you make MOPs the highlight of my month!

Courage to Try Something New - February 26th

We were created for progress.  No one grows up hoping that someday they'll be ordinary.  Instead, the frustrating reality is that each and every one of us has been created with a drive to move, to become something better - something more than we already are.  How do we move from the idea that compels us, to actually doing something about it?  Come hear how the executive director of the non-profit group Free the Girls unwittingly came to run this organization.  The fourth Thursday in February is National Chili Day, so we decided that we must celebrate it with a full chili dinner.  Hope you can join us!

Courage to Love and Be Loved - March 26th

Most of us struggle with either loving others or allowing ourselves to be loved.  It takes courage to do both!  We typically think of February as being the "love" month.  But there is another holiday that is also all about love .... Easter.  Monica Coleman, our former MOPS team member, will be our guest speaker.

Monica Coleman, was born and raised in Michigan.
I grew up in the small town of Mesick, MI known for the Morel Mushroom. I lived a very simple life in the country with my parents and 2 sisters. Upon high school graduation, I attended college at Spring Arbor College.
While at Spring Arbor College I studied Music and Psychology. During my time at Spring Arbor College I met my husband we dated for 2.5 years and were married in July of 2000.
Our parenting life started in May of 2003, We are now blessed with 5 beautiful children. My family and I moved to New Jersey 3 years ago because of my husband’s job. When we first move to New Jersey we settled into Paramus. After realizing how extremely busy Paramus was we decided last June to move our family to Ringwood for a slower pace of life.
Our family attends Powerhouse Christian Church where we've been attending for 2.5 years now.
I'm a whole foods, organic eating and natural living kind of gal. I enjoy cooking, baking, crafts, scrapbooking, playing the piano, and reading (of course when I have time) and being with my family.
Mops has been a part of my life since my son was 2 years old over 10 years ago. I met a wonderful lady and friend who reach out to me when I knew no one during one of our moves in MI. She invited me to come to her MOPS group and I've been a part ever since. This year has come with new experiences within MOPS for me as I’ve been Co-Coordinating a new MOPS group in my church. It has been a huge blessing to serve this new group of moms and watching them “BE Brave” in their motherhood.
