Introducing our guest speaker for this month...
Maude Carolan Pych is a wife, mother,
grandmother and poet. She raised her family amid the picturesque mountains,
lakes and reservoirs of Ringwood, NJ in the 1970’s. Her background as a writer
includes working as a reporter for the Paterson News and columnist for the
Totowa Times Herald in the 60’s. She now writes Christian inspirational poetry
as a ministry and composes poems to record family history. Maude was a finalist
in the national Allen Ginsberg Poetry Contest on four occasions and twice her poems
were granted Editor’s Choice awards. She also achieved second and third place
awards for poetry at the annual St. Catherine of Bologna Photo, Art &
Poetry Exhibition, in Ringwood.
Maude’s
poetry has been published in anthologies and publications that include The Paterson Literary Review, Sensations
Magazine, Lips, The Pillar Monthly and William W. Francis’ book, Celebrate the Feasts of the Lord. A
member of the North Jersey Christian Writers’ Group and Ringwood Manor
Association of the Arts, the poet leads the Paper, Pen & Praise writer’s
ministry at her congregation and regularly posts to her blog, Maude’s Poems, at: http://maudespoems.blogspot.com. She self-published
five chapbooks including The Circumcised
Heart, Bliss, From My Heart to Yours at Christmas…Cookies & Poems, The Widow’s Song and her newest, A Pilgrim’s Quest, a compilation of
poems about her three pilgrimages to Israel. She resides in Northern New Jersey
with her husband, Robert.
