Snakes & Ladders - Protecting Our Children

We look forward to meeting all you wonderful moms as we spend time with Ana Martinez who is a wife and mom of two teenagers.

Anna has lived in Hasbrouck Heights since 1992 and has been married to her husband Tony for 23 years. Anna serves as the Women's Ministry Director at Bible Baptist Church. She is a Licensed Social Worker with 28 years experience in child welfare and currently works for a non-profit social service agency in Paterson NJ.

Apples to Apples, Project Mommy Runway and an intro to Love Languages by the Rebers

We had such a lovely time at MOPS last week and for those of you who couldn't make it...you missed a wonderful get-together.

We began our evening with delicious apple crisp and following introductions, the ladies showed us their creative side by designing and creating lovely outfits for our mom's night out.

Our judges were so much fun as they provided their constructive criticism and comments on each of the designs. Luany and Carrie...thank you for being such willing and wonderful models as you worked the runway.

Following the fashion show we moved onto a really thought provoking session with Bob and Luany who discussed word associations with us. They shared with us the importance of understanding your spouse' and children's love languages to help us communicate better.

We had pumpkin decorating with Miss Maria and story time with Miss Mimi and Miss Kerry! The moppets sure had a fun story time with these lovely ladies.

Jane ended the evening by showing us how to make different caramel apples like smor'e caramel apples and peanut butter caramel apples.

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat is a fun children's event that will be held on Sunday, October 30th at Bible Baptist Church in Hasbrouck Heights.  See attached flyer for all the info.  MOPS will be having a trunk there again this year.  Every year we pick a theme and dress in costumes.  We've won a prize the past two years.

Our theme is a secret, so you'll just have to come to find out what it is.

If you would like to help us out by donating some candy or other wrapped treats for this event, please bring it with you on Thursday.  The only thing we can't use is hard candy or bubble gum.
